Assign a Request to Existing Work Order

1.In the Requests screen, select the request you want to assign to an existing work order.
2.Click Request Options and choose Assign to Existing Work Order.
3.The Add Request to an Existing Work Order window appears.

4.Choose a Work Order number by clicking the ellipsis next to the Work Order field. Select the appropriate Work Order from the Find Work Order window and click OK.  To review how to search in a Find window, see Chapter 1: Introduction, Common Functions: Find a Record.
5.The Request Status will be automatically set at Assigned.  If there are other “Assigned”-type status codes, you can change the status by clicking the Set Status button.
6.Choose a Priority level from the drop-down list.
7.You can either assign the request to an Existing Service on the work order, or create a New Service on the Work Order for the request. Click on the appropriate tab.

The services already on the work order will appear in the Service drop-down list.  Select a service from the list.

1.Click the ellipsis next to the Asset field.  Select the asset in the Find Asset window and click OK. To review how to search in a Find window, see Chapter 1: Introduction, Common Functions: Find a Record.
2.Choose a service from the Service drop-down list.

3.The Scheduled Date will default to today's date, but you can select another.
8.When you are done, click OK.
9.While still in the Request screen with the Request selected, go to the Work Orders screen.  It will open directly to the Work Order you just created.  Click on the Assets header button to open the Assets screen, and that screen will open directly to the related asset.
10.To work within the Work Order you just created, review Chapter 5: Work Orders, Work Orders Screen Overview.
11.Note that if the request has attachments, those attachments will been turned into procedures for the service on the work order, if you have selected that option in your System Settings ("When Adding Requests to a Work Order, Add an Attachment Procedure for Each Request Attachment").  See Chapter 2: Setting Up PMXpert, Step 3: System Settings, Work Orders.
