How to Use the Online Manual

Expanding Text

Some sections of Help can be expanded and collapsed so that you can see all of the headings on the page before selecting the section you want to read.

If you see a toggle heading with an arrow next to it, click on the heading to expand the text and/or pictures below.

If you click on the heading, you will see the expanded text.

Click the heading again to collapse the text and make more room on your screen.

If you click on the heading, you can view the expanded text.  Click the heading again to collapse the text and make more room on your screen.

Expand/Collapse All Hidden Text

To expand all of the Toggles on the page, so that you can see all of the information under the headings, click the Expand/Collapse button in the upper right corner of the screen:

To collapse all of the Toggles on the page again, click the Expand/Collapse button again.

Display/Hide Toggle Directory

If there are several toggle headings on the page, you can view a directory of the headings by clicking the Display/Hide button:

Click on the Toggle Heading you want to view, and the hidden information will be expanded for you to view.

Click on the Display/Hide button again to hide the directory.

Links

Note that text in bold, blue font that appears underlined when you hover the mouse is a link to a website, email address or another place in the document. To quickly and easily find related information elsewhere in the manual, click on the underlined word or phrase to go to the described section.

For example, click on Chapter 1: Introduction, Welcome to PMXpert to go directly to that topic.

Expand Table of Contents

In the Table of Contents, where you see a closed book icon like this...

you can click on it to expand the sub-topics included in the topic. As long as there is a closed book, there are still unopened sub-topics.

When you reach the topic page icon like this...

there are no further sub-headings.

Index

The PMXpert User Manual has an extensive index. Click on a letter to go to entries beginning with that letter.  Scroll through the entries until you find what you are looking for. Click on the entry to view the related topic.

Search

Click the Search tab and enter your search terms. The search results will appear below.

If you enter multiple search terms, select a radio button below to indicate whether you want to match "Any Search Words" or "All Search Words".
When matching results appear in the Search tab, click on the link of the topic you want to view and the topic will appear to the right.

Print a Topic

If you want to print the topic you are viewing, click the Print button in the upper right corner of the User Manual window.

If you have feedback about a topic, click the Mail button in the upper right corner of the User Manual window.

An email will be generated, automatically entering the email address, subject and topic reference.  Type in your comments and send it to us.

I can't see something in the Program that is described in Help...

As you work through this manual, you may notice that it describes something that you do not see in your software. Some header buttons may not be visible because they are unselected in your System Settings; see Chapter 2: Setting Up PMXpert, Step 3: System Settings, General. However, other tabs may not appear in your installation of the software because you have not purchased one or more of PMXpert's optional modules.

These PMXpert modules are optional add-on modules available for purchase: Service Request, PMXAlerts and PMXWeb. If you did not purchase a separate module, the related tabs and screens will not appear in your installation of PMXpert. If you are interested in purchasing any of these optional modules or want to receive a free demonstration, please contact your nearest Sales Department. You can also take a tour of PMXpert or request a free demo on our websites (choose the region nearest you: North America, Australia or United Kingdom).

If you use Online Help from our website, you will always access the latest version of the User Manual.
